furniture makers! How to improve and enhance your products, create
new ones and get business support to help you do so!
Do you work with fabrics, paints,
wood, tiling, lighting or other interiors? Do you design and make
soft furnishings, furniture or similar products? Did you know…

products with materials which are lighter, stronger, cleaner and
less expensive?
...there are paints that can
insulate heat, absorb odour and pollution, reflect lighting and are
easier to clean?

existing products to protect them and give them new properties?

Using emerging technologies in your creative business
The possibilities are endless;
they include treating silk to become water-resistant and
oil-proof, treating metals to keep their shine and become
rust-proof, enhancing garments so they are anti-microbial and
fire-retardant, the list goes on!
These interactive workshops are led by industry experts,
they will provide an introduction to the ‘emerging technologies’
that make all this a possibility. It will give you an opportunity
to explore the potential for enhancing your products, growing your
business and even creating exciting new products for your target
markets.
You’ll get the chance to road-test a few products already on the
market in a practical, hands-on session. Plus you will get the
opportunity to sign onto the Showcasing Innovation programme, which can give you
fully-subsidised practical help to implement the products in your
business.
