Fit for Business can help your business!

In collaboration with Newham Council, Fit for Business held a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event on Tuesday 23rd March at East Ham Town Hall.

Aimed at small to medium sized businesses, the event covered all aspects of tendering for work in Newham and other local authorities. Guest speakers included Andrew Shorter - Senior Procurement Manager in Construction at Newham Council and Julia Coate – Deputy Director of CIPs at Newham College. The event was a success, attended by 90 businesses. As well as networking sessions over breakfast and lunch, there were presentations on how to use NECTR in tendering for work in Newham and One-to-one advice sessions on tendering and procurement.

Fit for Business aims to help SMEs get fit to compete for East London regeneration business opportunities. The government funded project provides businesses with a bespoke programme of business support, some of the help available includes; practical help and advice on specialist topics, guidance on how to use procurement websites, how to improve your business profile, how to ensure your business is fit to supply, how to identify new opportunities by accessing new markets and much more.
