Fit for Business summer networking event

Over sixty local businesses packed into the Crowne Inn Plaza in Docklands on the 15th July to hear more about CIPs’ procurement and tendering initiative, Fit for Business.

Along with stands from many of the businesses on the programme and other business support organisations, the highlight of the evening was the presentation from Jonathan Watson of Westfield Stratford, who gave a fantastic overview of the Stratford City development and made it clear that there were many opportunities available for local businesses, including security, PR, marketing event management, printing and cleaning – to name just a few!

In addition, Abi Freeman, Fit for Business Project Manager, updated everyone on the project’s many future events and Abdul Rahim of Platinumlinks and one of the Fit for Business expert advisers gave an inspiring talk on maximising networking opportunities. This was taken on board by all the guests, who carried on exchanging cards and doing business with each other well into the evening.

The event was run in partnership with Newham Chamber of Commerce as part of the Fit for Business Project. Part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and led by Newham College, Fit for Business can show you how to make the most of ways to access opportunities in East London - so your business doesn’t miss out!
