Earn As You Learn - Helping students get ready for work

If you are a business and looking for temporary staff at a low rate, then use our Earn As You Learn Students at Newham College. To book it's quick, easy and commitment free. Unlike agency's we do not charge for this service, you simply pay the student for the time they have worked.

The Earn As You Learn (EAYL) programme allows Newham College students to earn money at the same time as gaining valuable work experience. The programme has been running successfully for the past 4 years – in fact in the last academic year alone the scheme placed around 600 job bookings! Currently the scheme has over 100 Newham College students on the books available and ready for work.

Many commercial outlets use the programme to recruit flexible students for temporary work placements; in particular the Fashion and Textile Museum, ZEN clothes shop in Stratford and the Women’s Business Centre regularly book EAYL students to cover the front of house as Customer Service officers. Also regular users of the system are various departments in Newham College including: CIPs, Finance, HR, Beauty, and the Business faculty.

EAYL is always keen to encourage new buyers to participate in the scheme to book students in for temporary work. There is no commitment; you can book EAYL students for as many or as little hours as required and can benefit from a variety of different skilled and graded students. Whether you have a large mailout and need someone to stuff envelopes, or if you are short staffed and need the phones covered, why not consider taking on an EAYL student?
