Working With Business

Our aim at CIPs is to make training and business support available that really works for Business people. That is why, although we have a huge range of Business courses available for those who want to study at College, we also work really hard to meet entrepreneurs, business owners and those responsible for training and development, to develop support that works for each unique situation.

Some of the services we offer:

  • One-to-one support frome experienced business advisers
  • Help with business development and change management
  • Advice on securing finance and investment
  • Business plan development
  • Analysis of your IT and training needs
  • Networking opportunities
  • An employment service to help find suitable staff
  • Specialised training for your staff

We have superb facilities that provide real working environments, up to date equipment and technology for our learners and can train individuals or groups at the College's various campuses and learning centres.

Much of the training that is delivered to employers and the self-employed through NCFE is provided in the business support centres, specialist industry learning centres or in the business or organisation's own premises and is often outside traditional working hours to accommodate the needs of the business. For example most of the School of Railway Engineering's work-based learning is delivered in tandem with employee shift patterns.

A project within the NHS saw innovative Basic Skills support to help around 900 learners in 33 London Hospitals to achieve their essential work-based NVQ's, again delivered on site around shift patterns, on a flexible one to one or group basis as required.

Online learning forms part of many of our training courses to help learners to fit their study in when it suits them, from work or home. We have a Virtual Learning Centre offering online tutors and Learndirect courses all available through the College. These courses generally take between 1 and 15 hours to complete and can be taken at any time, anywhere with a broadband internet connection.
